James is a Co-Founder of Cortex Partners, having previously set up ASW in 2003. Prior to this James spent almost 20 years at Jones Lang LaSalle where, in 1993 as National Director, he established the firm’s Leisure Group. This group became one of the leading advisors in the market, advising on many landmark schemes including The Printworks Manchester, The Gate Newcastle and O2 Finchley Road. In 2001, he became head of the Out of Town Retail and Leisure Investment Team.

At Cortex Partners, James continues to specialise in investment sales and acquisitions and development funding in the leisure and retail warehouse sectors advising clients including X-Leisure, Legal & General, UK & European and DTZ Investment Management.

James is a committee member of the Leisure Property Forum and a member of the Entertainment and Leisure Forum, Investment Property Forum and Accessible Retail. He also undertakes various speaking engagements on the leisure market.

James lives with partner Kate and has four children. He is a fanatical cyclist and skier and a regular competitor in Triathlons. A connoisseur of fine wines James is a self-confessed foodie and an enthusiastic cook.
